Family Lawyer Profiles

Each of our family lawyers is a specialist in his or her field. Unlike some high street solicitors, who practice in various different areas of law, our family lawyers practice family law and nothing else. This means we have the depth and breadth of knowledge and expertise within family law that only comes with specialisation. Whether you need a simple, straightforward divorce, or are having more complex problems related to your relationship breakdown, our team can help. Find out more about them by reading their profiles below.

Chartered Legal Executive

Linsey McDonald joined Switalskis in October 2007. She became a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX) in June 2008.

Legal Executives are similar to solicitors, the main difference being that whilst solicitors undertake a law degree, followed by the Legal Practice Course and a training contract, Legal Executives usually gain their qualifications whilst practising under close supervision and gaining experience in their chosen field of law. Graduates of ILEX can only become Fellows after two years' post-qualification experience in their specialist field.

Linsey is a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association), and in accordance with the Resolution Code of Practice, takes a non-confrontational approach to divorce and family breakdown.

Linsey has specialised exclusively in family law for a number of years and has a wide range of experience in dealing with divorce, children matters and of obtaining emergency injunctions in domestic violence cases.

Recently, she has delivered training on the law surrounding domestic abuse to a range of organisations.
